Publication

Taking inspiration from my research, I considered the idea of creating a publication that analysed the influence of tourism on Italian monuments. Aiming to depict how these historic spaces have survived time by evolving their purpose in society. Coinciding with this, I wanted to create a publication that changes the reader’s perception of how a book should look and be read.

Throughout this book, one key idea is that the imagery is ‘contaminated’ or has been changed. This treatment aims to highlight features of these iconic monuments that are often overlooked or forgotten by tourists. This critique does not intend to enforce a specific opinion on this touristic influence, but aims to enforce greater discussion and consideration for these spaces.
